Weekend update on Loki and his BFF

Being off on Wednesday and Friday afternoons is now something that I enjoy.  It allows me extra time to spend with family (Mom and the furballs).  It also allows me to spend more time with LOKI and any of his friends that accompany him.
 
Sarg and Loki were here quite awhile Friday.  I heard my boys barking while they were outside and looking out my back window, poor Sarg had gotten trapped in some very deep snow in the ravine behind my home and he could not get out.

      Loki was with him, and was trying to help lift him by using his nose and head.  The more Sarg struggled the deeper he sank and Loki was very upset.  Sarg is about 14 years old.  Sarg looked exhausted.   The snow remains up to my own waist in that area.

     I hurried and got dressed to go out back to help while mom gently coaxed Sarg and Loki thru my bedroom window.

  By the time I got outside, both Loki and Sarg were in my driveway.  Loki had managed to get Sarg out.  The love and loyalty these two have for each other is a lesson to all of humanity.
 
  I took out fresh water and chunks of rollover for them both.  Sarg had a long drink and I could tell he was tired out.  I gave a little rollover to him and he laid with his head on my lap while Loki ate.  I was outside with them almost an hour.

   While LOKI lounged in my driveway, keeping a watchful eye on his buddy, Sarg stretched out on my deck when I went inside and LOKI stayed with him.   He would not leave is friend and I made frequent trips back outside myself.

They were here about 2 1/2 hours together.  I was so scared for Sarg, at that age he could have had a heart attack.

Needless to say I now keep a very watchful eye on that area near my backyard.

Truly these two beautiful animals have bonded in a way that is priceless.  The younger LOKI being so diligent and concerned with the welfare of his elder friend and companion.
